1. Our Commitment
At Complete Health Wellness Group, we believe that mental health support should be accessible to everyone. As a practice dedicated to helping people navigate challenges and achieve wellness, we understand that accessibility barriers can prevent individuals from getting the help they need—and that's something we take seriously.
Our commitment to accessibility extends beyond compliance. We recognize that people with disabilities face unique challenges when seeking mental health care, and we're dedicated to creating an inclusive experience both online and in our offices. Whether you're exploring our services, scheduling an appointment, or accessing resources, we want your experience to be as seamless as possible.
Our Promise: We are committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to people with disabilities. We continually work to improve the accessibility and usability of our digital content and welcome your feedback.
2. Accessibility Standards
We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards. These guidelines, developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), provide a framework for making web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities.
Target Standard: WCAG 2.1 Level AA
WCAG 2.1 Level AA addresses the most common barriers for users with:
- Visual disabilities – including blindness, low vision, and color blindness
- Auditory disabilities – including deafness and hearing impairments
- Motor disabilities – including limited fine motor control and inability to use a mouse
- Cognitive disabilities – including learning disabilities, distractibility, and difficulty focusing
Our website is also designed with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title III requirements in mind, which applies to places of public accommodation including healthcare providers.
3. Accessibility Features
We have implemented the following accessibility features throughout our website:
Navigation
- Skip navigation link to bypass repetitive content and jump directly to main content
- Consistent navigation structure across all pages
- Descriptive link text that makes sense out of context
- Logical heading hierarchy (H1, H2, H3) for easy navigation with screen readers
- ARIA landmarks to identify page regions (header, main, navigation, footer)
- Mobile-responsive navigation accessible via touch and keyboard
Visual Design
- Sufficient color contrast ratios between text and backgrounds (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text)
- Text is resizable up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
- Information is not conveyed by color alone
- Focus indicators visible for keyboard navigation
- Readable fonts with adequate line spacing
- No content that flashes more than three times per second
Forms and Interactive Elements
- Form fields have associated labels
- Required fields are clearly indicated
- Error messages are descriptive and helpful
- All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard
- Buttons have descriptive text or accessible names
Content
- Images include descriptive alternative text
- Decorative images are appropriately marked to be ignored by assistive technology
- Plain language is used where possible to improve readability
- Page titles accurately describe page content
- Tables include proper headers for data relationships
4. Assistive Technology Compatibility
Our website is designed to be compatible with common assistive technologies:
Screen Readers
Our site has been developed with screen reader users in mind. We use semantic HTML, ARIA labels where appropriate, and ensure all interactive elements are properly announced. We aim for compatibility with:
- JAWS (Windows)
- NVDA (Windows)
- VoiceOver (macOS and iOS)
- TalkBack (Android)
Keyboard Navigation
All website functionality is available using only a keyboard. You can:
- Use the Tab key to move forward through interactive elements
- Use Shift + Tab to move backward
- Use Enter or Space to activate buttons and links
- Use Escape to close modals or menus
- Use arrow keys to navigate within menus and some interactive components
Browser Zoom and Text Scaling
Our website maintains functionality when browser zoom is increased up to 200% or when default text size is increased. We recommend using your browser's built-in zoom functionality if you need larger text.
5. Known Limitations
While we work diligently to ensure accessibility, we want to be transparent about areas where we're still improving:
We're Working On It: Accessibility is an ongoing effort. The limitations listed below are on our roadmap for improvement.
Current Known Issues
- Some PDF documents – Older PDF documents may not be fully accessible. We are working to remediate these documents and can provide accessible alternatives upon request.
- Third-party content – Some embedded content or third-party integrations (such as scheduling widgets or payment processors) may have their own accessibility limitations. We work with vendors who prioritize accessibility but cannot guarantee full compliance of third-party tools.
- Complex forms – Some intake forms accessed through our client portal are provided by third-party services. While we've selected HIPAA-compliant vendors that work toward accessibility, some forms may present challenges for certain assistive technologies.
If you encounter any accessibility issues with these or other elements, please contact us and we will provide an accessible alternative.
